Medical Student Education serves students' critical affairs in their pursuit of a medical degree for Indiana University School of Medicine. Do you enjoy the design, development and mindful data mining to aid in understanding curricular assessment and evaluation? If so, you may be the right fit for this opportunity in our team. As a Learning Assessment and Evaluations Specialist you will serve as an educational process expert in learning assessment and curriculum evaluation by working with subject matter experts to design and develop instruments, procedures, and standards for measuring curricular outcomes. Lead faculty in standard-setting for statewide examinations, and in interpreting outcome data, to include psychometric performance of tests. As you work under general supervision to timely collect, analyze, report, and interpret curricular outcomes data you will collaborate with internal and external teams to offer qualitative and quantitative details aimed at continuous quality improvement.
Master's degree in education, psychology (focus on psychometrics), instructional systems design or related area and three years of directly related experience.
Knowledge of applicable theory, content, and methodology related to education and educational measurement. Experience with educational assessment tools and methodologies and with psychometric design and analysis. Experience with assessing student performance in laboratory, simulation, or clinical settings, as well as experience with developing and assessing the validity of written and performance examinations. Experience in educational continuous quality improvement to include assisting with identifying and measuring curricular outcomes. Experience in higher education or professional education. Advanced computer skills to include MS Office applications, survey and testing platforms, statistical analysis software, learning management systems, standard databases for literature review, and virtual meeting platforms. Ability to analyze and accurately summarize educational literature, quantitative, and qualitative data. Exceptional organizational and communication skills. Accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to recognize own learning and professional development needs and undertake self-directed learning projects to address them.
Experience in health professions education. Experience with SPSS statistical software. Educational research experience.
Working Conditions / Demands
Must be able to travel to and from all nine medical school campuses and to attend meetings, workshops, and conferences both physically and virtually.
