There are two Clinical Assistant openings to join a large, team-oriented, at our brand new Fishers location. This position offers a learning experience like no other - you will gain experience in our very detailed specialty, grow your knowledge and become a vital part of the office family.

Daily job duties and responsibilities are made up of 4 areas-Physician Triage support, PAQ, Surgery scheduling, and Direct Patient Care.
1. Physician Triage Support includes:
-Maintain communication with front desk regarding physician schedule.
-Answer incoming patient calls and clinical questions
i. Use clinical judgment to answer patient questions
ii. Involve or notify MD if clinically relevant or needed
iii. Direct patient as to next action needed
iv. Work with available mid-levels
-Manage patient portal communications
-Call patients with lab and imaging results
i. Be able to explain and answer questions regarding results
-Manage physician schedule
i. Coordinate clinic and surgery time
ii. Assist with days out and vacation time scheduling
iii. Assist with work-in patients and time back in office
iv. Assist with scheduling new and work-in patients
-Assist with pre-certification of imaging and medications
-Assist and coordinate FMLA
-Assist with professional communication with other practices and health care facilities relating to referrals, imaging, medical records
-Integrate with other triage and surgery scheduling when appropriate.

2. PAQ (Personal Attitudes Questionnaire) support includes:
-Review and prep results in PAQ for physician review
-Coordinate with physician follow-up notification and action of results
-Schedule additional appointments and testing based on results with appropriate coordination, precertification, referrals

3. Surgery Scheduling includes:
-Schedule inpatient and outpatient procedures for physician practice
i. Coordinate dates of procedure with patient and physician
ii. Coordinate pre-op work, testing, and clearance
iii. Oversee communications to family and patient regarding surgery process
iv. Pre-certification
v. Oversee necessary record and health information transfer to hospital and surgery center
vi. Prepare history and physical surgical consent, relevant clinical information for day and procedure
vii. Coordinate post-operative follow-up appointments and any additional imaging/testing
viii. Assist with management and collection of imaging data

4. Direct Patient Care
-Assist physician and medical assistant as needed with clinical support and patient care while in office.
i. Teaching
ii. Coordinating
iii. Follow-up appointments
iv. Referrals
v. Rooming Patients
vi. Gathering health care data
vii. Entering data in EHR
-Practice and Physician liaison to patient

The EHR/EMR system they will mostly use is iSalus.

Medical Assistant Qualifications:
* High School diploma/GED along with completing MA schooling from an accredited school
* 2+ years clinical experience required with exposure to either surgery or scheduling in those roles
* Certifications are preferred but not required, any type of certification is acceptable (RMA, CMA, AAMA, CCMA, NCMA, NHA, etc)
* Next Gen experience is a plus

LPN Qualifications:
* High School diploma/GED along with completing LPN schooling from an accredited school
* 2+ years clinical experience required with exposure to either surgery or scheduling in those roles
* current Indiana LPN license in good standing

RN Qualifications:
* High School diploma/GED along with completing LPN schooling from an accredited school
* 1+ years clinical experience required with exposure to either surgery or scheduling in those roles
* current Indiana RN license in good standing

Personality is also a huge aspect we are looking for in candidates. We are looking for people that have a passion for patients/patient care who also can support demanding doctors. Professionalism is also very important. The candidate needs to speak and act professional at all times.

Also need to be comfortable with fast pace! You could see 15-30 patients per day on top of other calls and charting needed, depending on what they are scheduled to come in for.
