PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT PROGRAM (IN-PA-IUINA)
Oversees and directs all administrative functions related to the clinical education program in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies. Assists the Clinical Education Director in managing clinical assignments and all aspects of the clinical rotation cycle. Coordinates and develops communication, relationships, and contracts with clinical sites, their designated preceptors, and site administrative staff. Serves as lead representative of the clinical education program to preceptors, clinical sites, and other program affiliates.
Organizes and leads clinical meetings with students to communicate information, conduct standards, and documentation requirements related to each rotation, while helping to identify potential issues and proactively exploring probable solutions.
Supervises and directs temporary hourly and work study employees in data entry tasks and recordkeeping related to clinical rotations and site information. Advises these employees on appropriate data management processes, in accordance with accreditation standards. Implements and directs these processes to ensure the data transfer to MedHub is accurate and precise at all times. Communicates standards for creating and maintaining organized clinical files, and continuously ensures the effectiveness of such standards.
Independently manages the MedHub program to maintain a number of evaluations for each student's clinical rotations throughout the year. Analyzes and compares rotation schedules in relation to submitted evaluations. Monitors evaluation completion by all site preceptors and works with clinical sites to ensure 100% evaluation completion.
Proactively manages course schedules and improvises solutions, such that unforeseen changes or circumstances can be quickly addressed. Communicates effectively with all stakeholders related to the course scheduling process, to ensure changes are enacted seamlessly and without disturbing the clinical rotation process. Manages surgery training schedule and effectively communicates monthly EOR schedule to appropriate stakeholders.
High school diploma or GED and three years of related administrative and records management experience.
High-level of initiative, accuracy, resourcefulness, ethics, dependability and accountability. Motivated self-starter with broad problem-solving experience, attention to detail, and well-established ability to work independently and collaboratively. Strong ability to be flexible and adapt to a rapidly-changing, fast-packed environment. Strong computer proficiency. Strong customer service and communication skills.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree. Previous university or clinical administrative experience.
Working Conditions / Demands
Physical ability to work 40 hours per week. Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. Extended periods of time at a computer workstation (sitting, keyboarding, and viewing output on a monitor). Communication with co-workers and collaborators; both in person and by phone.
