This position is Responsible for the ongoing education and staff development needs of the company, to include developing written and online educations resources, presenting educational programs for improving organizational performance and established business objectives.  Serves as a clinical resource person to all levels of staff.  Responsible for conducting clinical and operational assessments as well as maintaining effective and efficient systems related to the quality and appropriateness of patient/client care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a key resource and provides instruction to staff in relation to education and training needs/requirements

  • Develops educational programs as assigned utilizing appropriate instructional procedures or methods such as individualized training, self-study, instructor led or computer-based training to meet the diverse needs of the adult learner

  • Develops process focused, standardized education materials that will be utilized in training PointCare users, as assigned

  • Maintains and updates education materials as needed due to quality initiatives and software updates and enhancements, as assigned

  • Conducts software testing in collaboration with other departments, as assigned

  • Monitors feedback from staff on programs, materials and resources for effectiveness and makes recommendations for improvement

  • Assists agencies with performance improvement initiatives, annual agency evaluation, and preparation for Profession Advisory Committee meetings, as assigned

  • Remains current with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding conventions, OASIS guidance, and State and federal regulations

  • Collaborates and works effectively with others

  • Completes work with accuracy and within expected times frames

  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

  • Adherence to and compliance with information systems security is everyone’s responsibility. It is the responsibility of every computer user to: Know and follow Information Systems security policies and procedures. Attend Information Systems security training, when offered.  Report information systems security problems.

Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Registered nurse licensed in the state(s) of operations

  • Current certification as a home care-coding specialist (HCS-D) and OASIS Certification (COS-C) preferred


  • Three (3) years of experience in home health care

  • Supervisory experience preferred

  • One (1) year of experience with point of service electronic documentation, deVero preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of framework, organization and function of the home health program

  • Knowledge and understanding of Medicare, Private Insurance, state and other federal agency requirements

  • Knowledge and understanding of ICD-9/ICD-10 coding convention and OASIS guidance

  • Knowledge of deVero or similar electronic medical record software

  • Basic computer skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to aggregate and trend collected data 

  • Strong research, analysis, reporting and presentation skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Attention to detail
