Job Summary

Are you a project managment and technically savvy professional with great attention to detail and solid communication skills? If so, you may be the right fit for the Course Coordinator opportunity within our Medical Student Education team. As a Course Coordinator you will manage all aspects of up to three statewide Phase 1 courses, specifically coordinating the space, time and resources necessary for successful course implementation.

This position serves as the frontline position for all activities related to those Phase 1 courses assigned to this role. As an integral part of the Education at Technology team you will work directly with Statewide Course Director(s) and Course Management Teams; coordinating course activities; compiling and analyzing student assessment data; communicating and providing assistance to statewide constituents at IUSM regional campuses; assisting students, faculty, and staff; and collaborating with other course coordinators. The Course Coordinator will make independent decisions, problem-solve, and make judgment calls on a daily basis regarding course management.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and five years in program coordination and/or administrative support in an academic setting.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently. Ability to think ahead to anticipate potential problems. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills to help resolve scheduling issues, and able to assist with student issues and prioritize competing tasks. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience working with databases and learning management systems (Blackboard, Oncourse, Canvas). Ability to learn new technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree. Experience in both a medical and academic setting.

Working Conditions / Demands

Ability to travel to and from IUSM campuses. Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without a reasonable accommodation.
