POLICE SERVICES (IN-PD-IUINA)
This position will be responsible for performing the duties of evidence handling and processing for both physical and digital evidence to include, but not limited to, chain of custody, storage, and maintaining of records for all evidence and property gathered by the department. Will be responsible for managing police digital images and recordings (including, but not limited to, in-car camera, body camera and other digital video recordings) ensuring availability and providing redaction and duplication when needed for subpoenas and Freedom of Information Act requests. Will be responsible for performing administrative and manual work related to the acceptance, preservation, safeguarding and disposition of evidentiary, found, or recovered property in accordance with applicable laws, Departmental policy and procedures.
High school diploma or GED and two years of administration or support staff experience.
Possess a valid driver's license with the ability to be insured by Indiana University.
Ability to perform duties effectively and in a professional manner. Ability to follow instructions and perform tasks efficiently. Ability to positively interact with the public. Excellent organizational skills. Excellent communication skills. Knowledge of computers and software systems including MS Office Suite and other job related programs. Competency in the performance of specialized duties when specialized training has been provided and completed. Ability to complete and maintain all required training and certifications related to property and evidence storage and processing. Possesses or ability to obtain certification in university required training. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Bachelor's degree. Experience working in a law enforcement agency.
