We are searching for an experienced Investment Services Specialist.

Essential Function

Dual role of performing clerical duties including use of online computer systems, reviewing forms and reports for accuracy and providing service on member insurance and investment accounts.  Also gains knowledge and experience under the direction of the manager, department leaders and assigned mentors through on the job training, observation, and by obtaining licenses to assists members in determining their financial goals and objectives.  Develop financial plans and implement their plan by selling appropriate financial products.

Primary Responsibilities & Duties

  1. Learns the different functions of each area of the Investment Department and the policies that impact compliance and service to members.

  2. Perform clerical duties including use of online computer systems, reviewing forms and reports for accuracy and providing service on member insurance and investment accounts.

  3. Responsible for reviewing and processing paperwork for accuracy and completeness before submission of mentoring advisor and their own client paperwork.  Follows up with member or staff to correct any errors.

  4. Responsible for working with members to establish and explain investment and insurance accounts then monitor trade activity for accuracy.  Follows through with service requests in conjunction with member phone calls, letters or as requested by representatives and management.

  5. Obtains licenses and certifications in: Life & Health, Series 6 & 63, and Series 7 and CFP.

  6. Will job shadow Investment Advisors from multiple branch locations and then meet with members to discuss their financial situations.

  7. Will complete a financial analysis for members he or she meets with, but also for other advisors, and makes recommendations for the appropriate amounts and types of insurance and investments to help members to attain their goals.

  8. Reviews fact finders and establish client files to meet compliance requirements, runs illustrations and assists in mutual fund performance research.

  9. Participates in consistent marketing activities to increase awareness of TCU Investment Services including seminars, lobby days, business development, member referrals and telemarketing.

  10. Completes production and traffic reports accurately and on a timely basis.

  11. Travel and some evening hours are required.

  12. Assumes additional responsibilities as necessary for the continued growth and advancement of the Credit Union.

Specific Skills

  • Excellent member services skills

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Attention to detail

  • Basic knowledge of Investments

  • Math skills

  • Working knowledge of XP2 processing system        

  • Ability to accept and manage change and set priorities to meet corporate objectives.

  • Clear communication and human relation skills and decision-making ability.

  • Ability to complete assigned projects in a timely and accurate manner, then report results to designated TCU leadership.

  • Ability to analyze and interpret a diversity of financial data.

  • Excellent organization, planning, and time management skills.


  • Accountable to promote a positive image of TCU Investment Services.

  • Accountable for providing professional assistance to members and ensure accuracy and timely completion of clerical duties performed.

  • Accountable for developing new relationships and meeting outbound calling weekly goals

  • Accountable for timely completion of assigned projects.

  • Expected to acquire and utilize new product knowledge.

  • Accountable for presenting a positive image of TCU Investment Services.
  • Accountable for Performance Management Goals as agreed upon with Supervisor.
  • Accountable for understanding and applying government laws and regulations and TCU policies and procedures relating to the Anti-Money Laundering Regulations including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), US PATRIOT ACT and OFAC.

Minimum Requirement

  • Bachelors’ degree preferred

  • Currently enrolled or planning to earn a bachelor’s degree within 5 years. 

  • Life and Health Insurance License within first 6 months of employment

  • Series 7 & 63 License required within 6 months of employment


Annual Salary

37,898.00 - 47,382.00
