MEDICAL & MOLECULAR GENETICS (IN-MMGE-IUINA)
The position is critical to the daily oversight of the IUGTL COVID Testing Laboratory of the Division of Diagnostic Genomics in the Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics. The laboratory is high- throughput SARS CoV2 testing laboratory with a test volume of thousands of specimens per week. The position provides ongoing support for daily laboratory activities as well as oversight and management of the employees of the laboratory.
Bachelor's degree in science and five years of continuous laboratory experience two years of supervisory experience.
Combinations of education and related experience may be considered.
Reliable attendance and knowledge of handling and troubleshooting scientific instruments and computers. Flexible to work weekends as needed. Knowledge of biosafety and chemical hazard requirements. Familiarity of laboratory information systems and personal computer software. Knowledge of laboratory operational processes and specimen management. Ability to interact with a wide variety of people including safety officers, laboratory staff, and laboratory directors. Strong communication skills. Ability to work independently.
Master's degree. ASCP certification in molecular genetics or comparable laboratory certification.
