Mechanical Designer, Indianapolis, IN
18+ month contract via Kelly Engineering
OVERVIEW:
Mechanical designer with experience in 3-D modeling and creation / maintenance of engineering drawings using Creo (Pro/Engineer) CAD software.
This position will work in a team environment with moderate direction and will interact with project designers located locally and remotely. Candidate will be able to create and develop solid models and engineering drawings in accordance with industry standard practices. An understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles will be beneficial.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create and maintain solid models to engineering specifications.
- Create and maintain engineering documentation for new and modified product releases (drawings and bills of material).
- Adhere to corporate design standards.
- Interact as necessary with model makers, manufacturing engineers and supply chain to provide required models and documentation for their respective activities.
- Support pre-production build activities as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in solid modeling in Creo Parametric (Pro/Engineer) is required.
- Understanding and experience with industry standard documentation practices is required.
- Experience in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing is beneficial.
- Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite is beneficial.
