VICE PRESIDENT INFORMATION TEC (UA-VPIT-IUINA)
Under general supervision, provide support to the GlobalNOC Network Operations Center's daily shift operations with primary responsibility requiring high level network monitoring, problem analysis, tracking, and resolution, with strong customer service skills. Service Desk technician will assist with diagnosing problems and taking appropriate corrective action for networks including IU campus/statewide networks, and other IU supported national and international research and education networks. The job includes rotating shift work, including nights and weekends.

High school diploma or GED and one year of equivalent work experience.
Knowledge of current operating systems and desktop software. Knowledge of local and wide area networks. Excellent interpersonal skills and a customer service orientation. Ability to effectively communicate and exchange information with a wide variety of individuals.
Some college. Experience in the areas of computer and network operations, customer support, telecommunications, or a related field.
Working Conditions / Demands
Mental Demands: Reading (documents or instruments), detailed work, problem solving, language, stress, training, math, reasoning, verbal and written communications, customer contact, multiple concurrent tasks, constant interruptions. Communicates in a professional manner to all clients and staff.
Primary NOC Physical Demands: Punctuality, attendance, talking, hearing, seeing, writing, sitting (particularly for long periods of time), and keyboarding - (particularly for long periods of time).
Secondary NOC Physical Demands: Standing, bending at the waist, kneeling, cleaning, climbing, balancing, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, twisting, squatting, driving, handling, and walking.
Ability to push and lift 35 pounds.
