Job Summary

The Project Manager will be expected to serve as a member of the leadership team for a School of Education state-funded grant to provide technical assistance and professional learning experiences in "Digital Education Hub (DEH) for Rigorous Remote Learning with Communities" (RFS 19-072) as part of the Federal CARES Act response through the Indiana Governor's Emergency Education Relief Fund and the Indiana Department of Education. The Project Manager coordinates team meetings, recruitment, and hourly workers; provides oversight to the project budget process; coordinates contractor and educator efforts; supports the design and delivery of web-based professional development content; and provides professional learning technical assistance to participants in state-wide offerings. Adhering to the project's professional learning and technical assistance approaches, systems and frameworks, the Project Manager develops research- and practice-based professional learning content and serves as a co-facilitator for professional learning experiences specifically designed for Indiana schools and districts. Additionally, the Project Manager is responsible for managing the participant intake process, records, and overseeing data collection and information data entry. Works in collaboration with the Principal Investigator, Co-Principal Investigator, and Key Personnel of the grant to support a team of School of Education faculty members and hourly employees to execute development, implementation, and evaluation of grant professional learning experiences.

Note: This position is grant funded for a period of two years.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field and five years of work experience in education settings with technology.

Combinations of education and related experience may be considered.

Experience managing projects and designing online professional development for educators utilizing the principles of adult learning, critical race theory, and sociocultural learning theories to address the needs of Pre-K-12 learners who are multicultural, multilingual, and/or learning, economically, or geographically diverse. Knowledge of the principles, methods and practices of online teaching and learning platforms, the tradeoffs and impacts of educational technology more broadly, and the use of digital tools in a variety of community contexts and settings with an emphasis on inclusion and equity. Knowledge of the principles, methods and practices of adult learning, systems change, and specific content areas related to educational equity, culturally responsive and sustaining pedagogy, curriculum development, and family and community engagement. Knowledge of adult learning principles and practices for designing effective professional development for educators, and familiarity with critical race theory and sociocultural learning theories. Excellent ability to effectively communicate and exchange information with a wide diversity of individuals and groups, while using a variety of mediums. Public speaking skills, including in the design and delivery of interactive, engaging presentations, and the ability to lead and collaborate with teams. Interpersonal skills, including ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to work effectively with individuals on multiple fronts to facilitate consensus and understanding, set timelines, and manage a budget.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's or doctorate degree in a related field with a demonstrated record of leadership experience.

Working Conditions / Demands

This position requires travel via air and car and work is performed in an open office atmosphere. Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without an accommodation.

Equipment utilized: Computer and related software, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, InDesign, Photoshop, online learning management systems such as Canvas, videoconferencing platforms such as Zoom, and project management and collaborative project management tools such as Microsoft Teams, Slack, and Trello.
