The Senior Analyst will work with a multi-disciplinary team of other analysts and clinical staff within the Myers and Stauffer Pharmacy Engagement Team performing various analyses related to Medicaid. Analyses will focus on areas such as drug pricing, Medicaid fiscal impact analyses, Medicaid program performance metrics and other areas of the Medicaid pharmacy benefit. The individual will also prepare written documents supporting professional decisions.

Essential Functions:

  • Independently perform various analyses relating to Medicaid engagements
  • Review applicable Federal and State Medicaid policies and regulations relating to healthcare reimbursement
  • Conduct research in order to determine compliance with relevant Medicaid or other government program regulations
  • Review, summarize, and apply policies and regulations specific to various analyses
  • Create, prepare and distribute analytical data reports and/or records
  • Participate in client conference calls as appropriate
  • Evaluate business processes to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Mentor, train and provide assistance to other team members
  • Handle phone calls and e-mails from clients to answer any questions
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required; Master’s degree in related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in healthcare analytics/auditing, public accounting, or related field
  • Experience working with medical and pharmacy claims data preferred
  • Previous Medicaid or Pharmacy Benefit Management experience preferred
  • Proficient use of applicable software programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Windows
  • Strong SQL and report writing skills
  • Must have strong ability to analyze data to identify issues
  • Ability to review statutory/regulatory or other policy language and apply requirements
  • Organized and detail oriented with strong problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of an organization, both internally and externally
  • Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work independently as well as the desire to learn
  • Ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
  • Effectively multi-task, think independently, and problem solve in a team oriented environment
  • Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
