Vaco has partnered up with a client on the East side of Indy to help fill an immediate hiring need within their Accounting and Finance department. Our client is currently looking for a Senior Manager, SAP Accounting Transformation Consultant. This position will provide important leadership to the organization by deepening the organization's knowledge of SAP and providing excellence in accounting for transformative activities such as separation from previous owner, acquisitions of new businesses, divestitures of non-core assets, and pursuing an aggressive continuous improvement agenda. This is a long-term consultant project.

Responsibilities:

  • Identifying ways to leverage SAP functionality to a greater extent in accounting and consolidations
  • Leading role in the integration of accounting for the companies most recent acquisitions
  • Playing a critical support role in integrating of accounting for major acquisitions
  • Providing accounting support and instructions for divestitures
  • Proactively work with other team members, shared service centers, and global affiliates to identify and implement accounting process improvement through leveraging SAP to a greater extent
  • Provide data-mining support and analysis for global SAP finance users
  • Contribute to the implementation of a new SAP environment
  • Develop best-in-class accounting and governance processes which leverage SAP functionality and controls
  • Contribute to advancement of automated controls across the organization
  • Partner with SOX controls team to foster automation agenda

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • CPA or Chartered Accountant required
  • 7+ years of related experience
  • Extensive SAP experience and ability to demonstrate leadership in implementing and extending SAP functionality
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills as position requires communication with employees in numerous geographic areas throughout the world
  • Strong teaming skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Ability to work independently and self-direct many projects simultaneously
  • Attention to detail
  • Solid problem-solving skills and ability to innovate
  • Solid business partnering skills and a willingness to influence and challenge when necessary
  • Deep knowledge of SAP and Excel
  • Passion for continuous improvement
  • Flexibility during peak closing periods.
  • Overtime is required based upon business needs and issues, particularly during closing at quarter and year-ends.
