This candidate will be checking in patients in University Hospital.

- Serves as the initial point of contact and "face" of IU Health as patients enter the facility.

- Delivers patient-facing duties and services within Revenue Cycle Services.

- Managing flow of patients from point of entry to destination in a timely, precise, and professional manner.

- Interviews patients or their representatives to confirm demographic, financial and clinical information.

- Verifies insurance eligibility for specific services.

- Answering phone inquiries while maintaining customer focus.

- Greets patients, staff, business partners and guests with a professional and courteous demeanor.

- Responsible for patient copay collections.

- Verifying in a timely manner that demographic information collected from patients is complete and accurate.

- Embodies the core values of IU Health (Purpose, Excellence, Compassion, and Team).

Systems used:

Utilizes automated insurance verification systems, Cerner, fax machine, and phone calls to complete insurance verification and obtain complete and accurate benefit information.

Must Haves:

- 2+ years of customer service

- Adaptable (for example; open to working different registration departments which they could be asked to do in some situations)
